The Parks Dept - No / Noise

17 September 2008
The Parks Dept @ The Fly on Oxford St. 15 October 2008
ok. so this is the deal. we are playing at The Fly on Oxford St. up London way on 15 October. We have got some tickets off the promoter what we want to sell to people...

we have this plan where we get a minibus, and ferry everyone down to London. we'll head off from Northampton late Wednesday afternoon play the gig, get wrecked afterwards and then drive everyone back home safe and sound.

we reckon this is a wicked plan! we can all get glittered up and that, descend on London and show them all how to have a proper gig. like one where everyone actually enjoys themselves and doesn't be all moody and cool just because they're from Lo..n....d..... never mind... :)

so yeah, with the help of Mr Saddles and his magical bus, we should be able to get everyone down, including ticket price for about £15 max... how sweet does that sound? you get to have a lovely mid-week blues banishing gig, and you get to spend some quality time with your favourite electro noise funsters, The Parks Dept.! plus we'll give you a load of free stuff, like a copy of out EP, "The Weekend Starts Round Here", some badges, maybe some Kooky Records T-shirts, and whatever other crap we can find under our beds. We'll get some beers in for the ride too.

Ok. This will only be great if everyone is well up for it and let us know that they want to come asap. Please email us via the Kooky Website, our Facebook page, or our myspace.

super. let's make this happen.

New gigs and that
Hello!

We are announcing (at rather short notice) that we will be supporting New Cassettes on the first night of their mega 2 night cassette fest at the New Roadmender this weekend.

We have been having some lovely gigs recently, check out the photos at www.myspace.com/theparksdept and also join our group on facebook if you fancy it.

So yeah, tickets are selling pretty fast for this weekend so it's worth getting one to ensure you can get in.

Bye
xx

The Parks Dept live at Dirty South, London, Sat 10 May 2008
The Parks Dept have just confirmed a gig supporting Belle and Sebastian DJ's at Dirty South in Lewisham, South London on Saturday 10 May 2008. Showtime is 10.15pm (tbc) and it's in a club which is open until 3 in the morning.

Advance tickets will be available from ticketweb.com (we'll let you know when) and please do book them there, quoting reference "The Parks Dept" when doing so. Buying tickets in this way will benefit the band.

Minibus/coach transport from Northampton is being planned so that local Parks Dept fans have no problem getting to and from London. The aim is to keep the all-in cost down to about 15 quid.

This will be a bumper London week because the band also play The Fiddler's Elbow in Camden on Thursday 8 May 2008 as previously announced.
