Hi ­ I hope you don¹t mind me contacting you via our site but on Sunday 7th
October I am taking part in a 55 mile charity cycle ride across the Peak
District, including a seven mile hill climb, in aid of Cystic Fibrosis
(CF).It would be appreciated if you could sponsor me in any way possible!
It is the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease and it
affects over 8,000 people in the United Kingdom . Over two million people in
the UK carry the faulty gene that causes Cystic Fibrosis - around 1 in 25 of
the population.
Cystic Fibrosis affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and
digestive system, by clogging them with thick sticky mucus. This makes it
hard to breathe and digest food.
Each week, five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis and currently three
people lose their fight against Cystic Fibrosis every week.
Average life expectancy is around 31 years, although improvements in
treatments mean a baby born today could expect to live for longer.



This disease personally affects people I ,and probably you know ,on a daily
